KEEP OUT

no-access-71233_960_720

I fall apart too often
Thinking about things
Better left buried
Angry about things
Done to the many
Defenseless kids
In the name of self
Satisfaction?
Gratification?
Clinging to hope
As if they’ll be their
Salvation?
Abused, neglected
Fending and fighting
Having to figure out
What the hell is what
I’m pissed as hell
We allow ourselves
To rehabilitate
Handing out chances
Like it’s Halloween
Trick or treat
Except the only treat
Is damaged kids
Becoming adults
Looking for a home
In a world full
Of locked doors
Windows barred
And signs saying
“Keep out”
